The Burning Sky Band

Greyshore’s mission was to provide a showcase reel for a Bad Company classic rock tribute band to get them hired for large venues. 

Project Challenges

• Capture each band member on video individually and simultaneously record the entire band.
• Keep the project manageable and foolproof while using ten cameras.  
• Ensure that the location selected for the shoot (wedding venue) had the look and feel of a rock band.

Greyshore Solutions

• Greyshore not only dressed the set to have more of a rock and roll feel, but also provided a customized band banner with the band’s logo (we provide many kinds of print services in addition to photography and video for a full service experience).  
• Greyshore used industry favorite, Blackmagic Atem Iso Mini to record the project and serve as a master instrument to turn on and off the ten cameras. This also helped our video editor to manage the project since synching up ten cameras (and audio) becomes seamless with the ATEM Iso Mini.

Above and Beyond

• Greyshore’s staff is equally adept at photography and we knew we could provide great headshots and group shots for the band.  We were able to offer a discounted rate for the photography since we were already on location.  
• An unexpected challenge arose accessing the software necessary to provide top-quality audio for the band.  Greyshore to the rescue!  Although this was not Greyshore’s job for this recording, we were able to troubleshoot on the fly to ensure the band had the best audio recording possible.
